Winter Windmill Gate

The first week in 2026 was greeted with a lot of quite unusual snow in The Netherlands. I found myself in a city called 'Wijk bij Duurstede' that morning and it was snowing nonstop. I love fresh snow in the morning as it doesn't have that much footmarks yet. The first people made their way through the streets. I decided to capture this street with some life in it, and at the same time showing how big this windmill actually is against the people.

This is the only windmill in The Netherlands that has a 'gate' in it. It was a morning like I had never seen before in Wijk bij Duurstede.
